The Arden Fair, held over the Labor Day Weekend, was where I first saw long haired boys wearing eye shadow and white bell bottoms without their shirts or shoes on. This was the late seventies and It left a lasting impression. Arden was not far from where I grew up, but a world away culturally from my house.

Founded in 1900 as a radical single-tax community by a sculptor and an architect, many of the villagers consider themselves to be close-knit, liberal, free-spirited, artistic and intellectual. Along with my Delaware friend, Casey Orr, we set up a studio during the end of the summer,  I shot inside in the Gild Hall in black and white, and Casey covered the outside in color.
